🗂 Part of event: Will Satoshi move any Bitcoin in 2026? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 6% chance — very unlikely.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 6% right now.
The market heavily discounts any Satoshi movement in 2026 despite a flurry of recent headlines about incoming transfers to his wallets, because the core question is about outgoing transactions from those wallets, which remain untouched.
📊 Base rate: Satoshi's wallets have shown zero outgoing transactions since their creation in 2009, giving a historical base rate of effectively 0% for any year.
What's driving it
- • Recent headlines about Bitcoin being sent to Satoshi's address (Yahoo Finance, Jul 24) and a Revolut user accidentally burning $5K by sending to that address (Cryptonews.net, Jul 24) have not moved the odds because these are inflows, not outflows, and the market resolves on outflows or swaps.
- • A Mashable article on July 25 questioning a New York Times unmasking claim reinforces the narrative that Satoshi's identity remains unknown, reducing the likelihood of any deliberate action by the real Satoshi.
- • The persistent 94% No odds reflect the unchanged fundamental fact that no wallet labeled as Satoshi's on Arkham has ever shown an outgoing transaction, and no catalyst has emerged to change that.
The case for YES
- • If the New York Times unmasking claim (Mashable, Jul 25) were to gain credible evidence, it could pressure the identified person to move coins to prove or disprove the claim.
- • A coordinated hack or social engineering attack targeting Satoshi's private keys could force an outflow, though no such event is indicated in recent headlines.
- • The recent inflow of $5,000 to Satoshi's address (Yahoo Finance, Jul 24) could theoretically be a test transaction by someone who later gains control of the wallet, but this is speculative.
The case for NO
- • Satoshi's wallets have remained dormant for 17 years, and no credible evidence of key compromise or identity revelation has emerged, making an accidental or deliberate outflow extremely unlikely.
- • The recent headlines about incoming transfers (Cryptonews.net, Jul 23-24) are irrelevant to the resolution condition, which requires outflows or swaps, and the market has correctly ignored them.
- • The resolution relies on Arkham's labeled wallets, which have never shown activity; even if Satoshi moved coins to a new address, it would not count unless Arkham updates its labeling.
What to watch
- • If Arkham adds a new wallet to Satoshi's entity page showing recent activity, that could spike Yes odds, but no such event is scheduled.
- • A credible claim of Satoshi's identity with proof of key ownership (e.g., signing a message) could trigger a move to Yes, but no such event is imminent.
- • The release of the Doug Liman Bitcoin biopic (JoBlo, Jul 23) in 2026 might generate media attention, but it is unlikely to affect the actual movement of coins.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to “Yes” if any wallet labeled as belonging to Satoshi Nakamoto on Arkham’s Intel Explorer shows an “Outflow” or “Swaps” transaction at any time between January 9, 2026, 1:00 PM ET and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” The resolution source for this market is Arkham’s Intel Explorer, specifically the entity page for Satoshi Nakamoto available at https://intel.arkm.com/explorer/entity/satoshi-nakamoto If Arkham becomes permanently unavailable, this market will resolve based on a consensus of credible sources.
