Will Arizona Cardinals win the 2026 NFC West?
🗂 Part of event: Pro Football: NFC West Champion →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 3% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 3% right now.
The Cardinals are priced as near-certain losers (1%) because of a brutal division (49ers, Rams, Seahawks) and a lack of any positive offseason news, with the only recent headline being an indefinite suspension of a team executive (AP News, Jul 17).
📊 Base rate: Since the NFC West was formed in 2002, the Cardinals have won the division only twice (2008, 2015), giving them a historical win rate of roughly 8%.
What's driving it
- • The odds are overwhelmingly negative due to the team's long-term weakness and the strength of division rivals, with no recent positive headlines to shift expectations.
- • The indefinite suspension of a Cardinals executive for violating the league's gambling policy (AP News, Jul 17) adds a minor off-field distraction that could further dampen confidence.
- • Training camp previews (USA Today, Jul 18) focus on depth players like LB Jack Gibbens and DL Andrew Billings, underscoring that the roster lacks star power at key positions.
The case for YES
- • If the team’s young defensive additions (e.g., DL Walter Nolen III) develop quickly and the offense stays healthy, Arizona could overachieve in a weak division year.
- • The Cardinals have a history of occasional surprise division titles (2008, 2015), and a 1% probability leaves room for a long-shot upset if multiple rivals underperform.
- • If the NFL's tiebreak procedure favors Arizona after a multi-team tie, they could win the division with a modest record.
The case for NO
- • The San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks all have stronger rosters on paper, making it extremely difficult for Arizona to finish first.
- • The Cardinals have not won more than 8 games in a season since 2021, and the division is consistently competitive, with no clear catalyst for a turnaround.
- • The executive suspension (AP News, Jul 17) could create organizational instability, and training camp reports (USA Today, Jul 18) show no breakout stars among the defensive depth pieces.
What to watch
- • 2026-09-10: NFL regular season opener – if the Cardinals win decisively, the odds could tick up slightly, but a loss would reinforce the 1% level.
- • 2026-10-01: Key divisional matchup (e.g., vs. 49ers or Rams) – a win would be the first real evidence of competitiveness; a loss would solidify the 'No' case.
- • 2026-08-15: Training camp injury reports – a season-ending injury to a star player (e.g., Kyler Murray or a top defender) would push odds even lower, while no major injuries would maintain the status quo.

Resolution criteria
This market will resolve according to the team that is declared as the NFC West division champion for the 2026 NFL regular season. If multiple teams tie atop the division, this market will resolve according to the official tiebreak procedure of the NFL. If the 2026 NFL regular season is cancelled, postponed after January 17, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared for this division within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Jackson Koivun commands an unusually high 54% probability for a PGA Tour event, but the 1-point dip in the last 24 hours hints at shifting money, and recent headlines focus entirely on the British Open victory by Ryan Fox (AP News, Jul 24), offering no clear catalyst for that movement or for Koivun's lead itself.
