Will Allisha Gray have the highest points per game in the WNBA 2026 regular season?
🗂 Part of event: WNBA: Points Per Game Leader →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 1% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 1% right now.
Despite leading the Dream in scoring recently, Allisha Gray's 1% odds reflect the market's view that her balanced team role and historical scoring averages make a league-leading PPG nearly impossible, with elite scorers like Wilson and Stewart dominating the category.
📊 Base rate: The WNBA scoring leader has averaged over 20 points per game in each of the last five seasons, while Gray's career PPG is 12.7, meaning a jump to the top would require a historically unprecedented scoring surge.
What's driving it
- • Headlines highlighting the Dream's 'balanced attack' (Field Level Media, Jul 18) suggest Gray's scoring is diluted by team-wide contributions, capping her PPG ceiling.
- • The simultaneous 'Top Points' headlines for both Gray and Isobel Borlase (Yahoo Sports, Jul 18) indicate that even in a single game, Gray is not the sole dominant scorer, reinforcing competition within her own team.
- • The 99% No odds reflect a market consensus that other established stars (e.g., A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart) have far higher PPG baselines, and no recent headline suggests a decline in their scoring.
The case for YES
- • Gray's role as the team's primary offensive weapon, as implied by 'Allisha Gray Powers Atlanta's Dream Season' (Mshale, Jul 18), could lead to increased usage and scoring volume over the season.
- • If Gray sustains the top-scoring performances seen in recent games (Yahoo Sports, Jul 18) and other contenders suffer injuries or slumps, her PPG could climb into contention.
- • The tiebreaker favoring games played and alphabetical order could work in Gray's favor if she maintains a high game count and ties with a player whose last name comes later alphabetically.
The case for NO
- • The Dream's balanced scoring, described as a 'ride balanced attack' (Field Level Media, Jul 18), inherently limits any single player's scoring volume, making a league-leading PPG highly unlikely.
- • Elite scorers like Breanna Stewart and A'ja Wilson have historically averaged 20+ PPG and are not mentioned in any headlines suggesting they are underperforming, meaning Gray would need to outpace them by a wide margin.
- • The market's extreme 99% No probability reflects a strong consensus that Gray's career trajectory and current role do not support a PPG title, and no catalyst has emerged to shift that view.
What to watch
- • Release of mid-season official PPG leaderboards (expected around August 2026): if Gray appears in the top 3, Yes odds would likely increase; if she is outside the top 10, No odds would strengthen.
- • Injury to a top-5 scorer like A'ja Wilson or Breanna Stewart: would remove a key competitor, potentially boosting Gray's chances and raising Yes odds.
- • Multiple consecutive games where Gray scores 30+ points (e.g., next 3 games): would signal a scoring surge, pushing Yes odds upward.

Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.

Resolution criteria
This market will resolve according to the player that finishes the 2026 WNBA regular season with the highest points per game average of any qualified player. In the event of a tie for the highest points per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard. If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).
