Will Brittney Sykes have the highest points per game in the WNBA 2026 regular season?
🗂 Part of event: WNBA: Points Per Game Leader →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 1% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 1% right now.
Despite the 0% odds, the real story is that Brittney Sykes is not considered a top contender for the WNBA scoring title; the market has already priced in her injury risk and low scoring history, with no upside catalysts.
📊 Base rate: The typical WNBA scoring champion averages over 20 PPG; Brittney Sykes' career average is under 10 PPG, making her an extreme outlier for this market.
What's driving it
- • A July 17 injury report lists Sykes as questionable to play, raising concerns about missed games that would hurt her PPG average (Athlon Sports, Jul 17).
- • All recent headlines from July 2026 show Sykes' team (Tempo) playing without any mention of her high scoring, suggesting she is not putting up leaderboard numbers.
The case for YES
- • If Sykes returns healthy and goes on a scoring tear, she could average 25+ PPG over the remaining games, potentially topping the leaderboard.
- • The WNBA scoring title often goes to a player who appears in many games; if Sykes plays in all remaining games and other top scorers get injured, her total points could be high enough.
The case for NO
- • Sykes has never averaged more than 12 PPG in a WNBA season, making a leap to league-leading 20+ PPG extremely unlikely.
- • The injury report indicates she may miss games, which would reduce her total games played and make it harder to qualify for the leaderboard or maintain a high average.
- • Other top scorers like Jewell Loyd, A'ja Wilson, and Breanna Stewart are consistently near 20 PPG and are not shown as injured.
What to watch
- • Upcoming injury report updates (daily) – if Sykes is ruled out for multiple games, odds will stay at 0%; if she is cleared and plays, odds could move slightly above 0%.
- • WNBA regular season scoring leader updates – if Sykes records a 30+ point game, it could briefly shift sentiment, but given the 0% baseline, movement would be minimal.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
This market will resolve according to the player that finishes the 2026 WNBA regular season with the highest points per game average of any qualified player. In the event of a tie for the highest points per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard. If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).
