Will Sabrina Ionescu have the highest points per game in the WNBA 2026 regular season?
🗂 Part of event: WNBA: Points Per Game Leader →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 1% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 1% right now.
Despite strong off-court marketing and team exposure, the market sees Sabrina Ionescu as a near-impossible PPG leader because she has never averaged 20 PPG in a season and faces proven scorers like A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart, who are not mentioned in these headlines.
📊 Base rate: Since entering the league in 2020, Sabrina Ionescu has never finished top 3 in points per game, and the WNBA scoring title has historically been won by players averaging 20+ PPG, a threshold she has not reached.
What's driving it
- • The 7-day -4pt odds decline reflects no headline about Ionescu's scoring performance, while competitors like Breanna Stewart are featured in game previews (Fox News, Jul 16).
- • Travel disruptions and team struggles (Yahoo Sports, Jul 17) could negatively affect Ionescu's individual rhythm and scoring efficiency, reinforcing the low odds.
- • The absence of any news about Ionescu averaging a high PPG, combined with her continued focus on sneaker launches (Sole Retriever, Jul 17), suggests no on-court breakout to challenge the league leaders.
The case for YES
- • Ionescu could benefit from an increased scoring role if teammates like Breanna Stewart face injury or rest, as the Liberty's travel woes (New York Daily News, Jul 17) might force lineup adjustments that boost her usage.
- • Her selection for the Nike White Label All-Star pack (Hypebeast, Jul 17) underscores her elite status and could be a proxy for high performance, potentially translating to a scoring surge in the second half of the season.
The case for NO
- • The WNBA scoring title is consistently won by players averaging over 20 PPG, and Ionescu has never reached that mark in her career, per historical data not provided but widely known.
- • Dominant scorers like A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart have a proven track record of outscoring Ionescu, and there is no headline suggesting Ionescu has closed that gap.
- • The Liberty's travel disruptions and team inconsistency (Yahoo Sports, Jul 17) create unfavorable conditions for Ionescu to sustain a high scoring average, especially against top teams like Dallas (Fox News, Jul 16).
What to watch
- • The Liberty's upcoming game against the Dallas Wings (Fox News, Jul 16) — if Ionescu scores 30+ points, odds could rise; a poor performance would likely push them further toward 0%.
- • Any announcement of a season-ending injury to a top PPG competitor (e.g., A'ja Wilson) would sharply increase Yes odds, as the field narrows.
- • The release of the official WNBA scoring leaderboard mid-season (typically August) — if Ionescu is not in the top 5, odds will drop further; if she is top 3, a modest increase is possible.

Resolution criteria
This market will resolve according to the player that finishes the 2026 WNBA regular season with the highest points per game average of any qualified player. In the event of a tie for the highest points per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard. If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).
