Will Player O have the highest points per game in the WNBA 2026 regular season?
🗂 Part of event: WNBA: Points Per Game Leader →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 0% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 0% right now.
The market is pricing a 0% chance that Player O leads the WNBA in scoring, which is effectively a dismissal of any unknown or unheralded player overtaking established stars like A'ja Wilson or Caitlin Clark, given the league's scoring hierarchy and the lack of any headline suggesting Player O is a top contender.
📊 Base rate: In the WNBA, the scoring leader has been a top-5 draft pick or established superstar in 9 of the last 10 seasons, making it extremely rare for an unheralded player to lead the league.
What's driving it
- • No recent headline mentions Player O as a scoring threat, with Yahoo Sports (Jul 18) highlighting A'ja Wilson as MVP favorite, implying she is the scoring leader candidate.
- • Kaitlyn Chen's unlikely ascent (San Francisco Standard, Jul 16) shows a lesser-known player can outperform stars like Caitlin Clark, but Chen is not named Player O and her scoring is not league-leading.
- • Caitlin Clark's historic 45-point game (Basketball Network, Jul 18) underscores that top scorers are already established, leaving no room for an unknown Player O to lead.
The case for YES
- • If Player O is a rookie or breakout player who has not yet been widely covered, a late-season surge could push them to the top, similar to Kaitlyn Chen's unexpected rise (San Francisco Standard, Jul 16).
- • The market's 0% odds may overreact to the lack of current hype, as scoring leaders can emerge from injuries to stars or a player averaging high points in a small sample size.
The case for NO
- • A'ja Wilson is the clear MVP frontrunner (Yahoo Sports, Jul 18) and likely leads in scoring, making it improbable for an unheralded Player O to surpass her.
- • Caitlin Clark's 45-point game (Basketball Network, Jul 18) demonstrates that top scorers are already dominating, and no headline suggests Player O is even close to that level.
- • The resolution requires qualification (minimum games), and Player O has no reported stats or media mentions, indicating they are not a regular starter or high-volume scorer.
What to watch
- • If Player O scores 30+ points in a nationally televised game before August 1, 2026, the odds could rise from 0% to 5-10% as media attention grows.
- • An injury to A'ja Wilson or Caitlin Clark in late July 2026 would open the scoring race, potentially increasing Player O's chances to 15-20%.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.

Resolution criteria
This market will resolve according to the player that finishes the 2026 WNBA regular season with the highest points per game average of any qualified player. In the event of a tie for the highest points per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the player who appeared in the greater number of games. If the tied players also played the same number of games, the market will resolve in favor of the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. Qualification for inclusion in official WNBA leaderboards (such as minimum games or statistical thresholds) will be determined according to WNBA rules and applied exactly as reflected in the official leaderboard. If the 2026 WNBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be the WNBA (https://stats.wnba.com/players/traditional/).

Jackson Koivun commands an unusually high 54% probability for a PGA Tour event, but the 1-point dip in the last 24 hours hints at shifting money, and recent headlines focus entirely on the British Open victory by Ryan Fox (AP News, Jul 24), offering no clear catalyst for that movement or for Koivun's lead itself.
