Will Bitcoin dip to $57,500 in July?
🗂 Part of event: What price will Bitcoin hit in July? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 4% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 4% right now.
The market sees a 96% chance Bitcoin avoids a 44%+ crash to $57,500 in July, but the real story is that recent dips to $64K and $65.5K have been met with institutional buying and technical rejection at key levels, making a catastrophic drop unlikely within the remaining six days.
📊 Base rate: Bitcoin has experienced intra-month drops exceeding 10% in roughly 15% of months historically, but a 44%+ decline from its July high near $103K to $57,500 would be a tail event far beyond typical monthly volatility.
What's driving it
- • The 7-day -5pt move in Yes probability reflects a rejection at the point of control and a dip to $64K (CryptoRank, Jul 24), which was quickly followed by institutional dip-buying from Morgan Stanley (Bitget, Jul 24), reinforcing the No side.
- • Headlines show Bitcoin dipped to $65,568 on July 23 (Pluang) and $64K on July 24, but these are far above the $57,500 threshold, and the market interprets them as shallow corrections rather than the start of a crash.
- • The rejection at the point of control (Bitget, Jul 25) and rising Bitcoin dominance preparing to fall (Bitget, Jul 25) suggest altcoin rotation rather than a broad selloff, reducing the chance of a panic-driven drop to $57,500.
The case for YES
- • A sudden macro shock or exchange outage could trigger a flash crash below $57,500 on a single 1-minute candle, as the resolution only requires one low print, not a sustained price.
- • Bitcoin has already dipped to $64K and $65.5K in the past three days (CryptoRank, Pluang), showing downside momentum that could accelerate if spot demand weakens further (Pluang, Jul 23).
- • The market is heavily skewed to No at 96%, meaning a contrarian bet on Yes offers asymmetric upside if a black swan event occurs before July 31.
The case for NO
- • Institutional buying, including Morgan Stanley adding 57 BTC (Bitget, Jul 24), provides a price floor that makes a 44%+ decline to $57,500 highly improbable in the short term.
- • Technical rejection at the point of control (Bitget, Jul 25) and rising altcoin dominance suggest capital is rotating within crypto, not fleeing, which limits downside for Bitcoin.
- • With only six days left in July and Bitcoin trading near $64K-$65K, a drop to $57,500 would require a daily decline of roughly 11%—a magnitude not seen in recent headlines, which show dips of only 1-2%.
What to watch
- • July 26-27: Weekend low-liquidity trading could amplify any negative news, increasing the chance of a flash crash to $57,500 (Yes direction).
- • July 28-30: Any major regulatory action or exchange hack would likely spike volatility and could push Bitcoin below $57,500 on a single candle (Yes direction).
- • July 31: End-of-month options expiry could cause a sudden price swing, but the lack of any current catalyst for a 44% drop makes a No outcome more likely (No direction).
