Will Bitcoin dip to $52,500 in July?
🗂 Part of event: What price will Bitcoin hit in July? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 1% chance — almost no chance.

Despite a 7-point drop in Yes odds to near-zero, the market is pricing in a near-impossible chance of Bitcoin hitting $52,500 by month-end, even as recent dips to $64K and $65.5K show volatility but remain far above the target.
📊 Base rate: Bitcoin has not touched $52,500 since early 2024, and in any given month, a 20%+ intra-month drop from current levels (~$64K) is extremely rare, occurring in less than 5% of months historically.
What's driving it
- • Bitcoin was rejected at the point of control (a key technical level) for the second time, reinforcing resistance near current prices (Bitget, Jul 25).
- • A dip below $64K on July 24 was attributed to spot demand weakness, but the drop was only about 2% from prior levels, far from the $52,500 target (CryptoRank, Jul 24).
- • Morgan Stanley bought the dip with 57 additional BTC, signaling institutional confidence and reducing the likelihood of a severe crash (Bitget, Jul 24).
The case for YES
- • If a sudden black-swan event (e.g., exchange hack, regulatory ban, or macroeconomic shock) triggers a flash crash, a single 1-minute candle could briefly hit $52,500 even if prices quickly recover.
- • Bitcoin dominance is preparing to fall, which could precede a sharp altcoin-led selloff that drags BTC down disproportionately (Bitget, Jul 25).
- • The resolution uses Binance's 1-minute low price, so a momentary liquidity void or fat-finger trade could trigger a Yes outcome without sustained low prices.
The case for NO
- • Bitcoin is currently trading near $64K, requiring a ~18% drop in just 5 days to reach $52,500, an unprecedented move given recent stability and institutional buying (Morgan Stanley, Jul 24).
- • Spot demand has weakened, but ETF inflows and strong futures trading provide a floor, making a catastrophic decline unlikely (Pluang, Jul 23).
- • The 7-point drop in Yes odds over the past week reflects growing confidence that the target is out of reach, with no new bearish catalysts emerging.
What to watch
- • Federal Reserve interest rate decision on July 29: a hawkish surprise could spook markets and push BTC lower, increasing Yes odds slightly.
- • Monthly close on July 31: if BTC holds above $60K through month-end, No odds will solidify further as time runs out.
- • Any major exchange outage or liquidation cascade in the final days could spike volatility and briefly touch the target, raising Yes odds.
