Will Julius van den Berg finish top 3 in the 2026 Tour De France?
🗂 Part of event: Tour De France 2026: Top 3 →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 0% chance — almost no chance.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 0% right now.
The market is pricing a 50% chance for a rider who has never been a GC contender, likely reflecting a mispricing or speculative noise rather than any realistic chance of a top-3 finish.
📊 Base rate: Since 2010, every Tour de France top-3 finisher has been a rider with a prior top-10 GC result; no rider from a team focused on sprints or classics has placed top 3.
What's driving it
- • Team Picnic PostNL's Tour de France line-up includes Pavel Bittner as a sprinter and Julius van den Berg as a domestique, reinforcing that van den Berg is not a GC leader (Team Picnic PostNL, Jun 29).
- • The 50% odds persist despite the race being in its final week and no headline suggesting van den Berg has gained any GC time, indicating a lack of market movement rather than a fundamental shift.
The case for YES
- • If van den Berg joins a successful breakaway on a transitional stage that gains several minutes, he could theoretically move into the top 3, though he would need to hold that time through mountains and time trials.
- • The market's 50% odds imply some traders believe an unknown scenario (e.g., a crash eliminating favorites) could elevate him, but no concrete evidence supports this.
The case for NO
- • Van den Berg's team role is clearly support; he has no prior GC top-10 in any grand tour, and the team's stated focus is on stage wins, not overall classification (Team Picnic PostNL, Jun 29).
- • With only five stages remaining (including a mountain stage and a time trial), van den Berg is currently far down the GC standings, and gaining a top-3 spot is mathematically implausible without a catastrophic event.
What to watch
- • The final mountain stage (July 22) will likely eliminate any non-climbers from GC contention, strongly pushing the market toward 'No'.
- • The penultimate time trial (July 25) will further solidify the GC order, almost certainly confirming a 'No' resolution.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed cyclist finishes in the top 3 of the 2026 Tour De France scheduled for July 4, 2026 through July 26, 2026. If at any point it becomes impossible for a listed cyclist to finish in the top 3 of the 2026 Tour De France per the rules of the UCI, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". If the 2026 Tour De France is cancelled, postponed after August 9, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there are otherwise no declared top 3 finishers declared within that timeframe, the corresponding market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source will be official information from UCI; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
ⓘ A market settles under its own written rules, which can lag what looks decided in the news — so the price may not move to 100% the moment an outcome seems obvious.

Jackson Koivun commands an unusually high 54% probability for a PGA Tour event, but the 1-point dip in the last 24 hours hints at shifting money, and recent headlines focus entirely on the British Open victory by Ryan Fox (AP News, Jul 24), offering no clear catalyst for that movement or for Koivun's lead itself.
