🗂 Part of event: Another Blue Origin rocket explodes by Oct 31? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 10% chance — very unlikely.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 10% right now.
The market heavily favors No (90%) because Blue Origin's official return-to-flight plan targets December 2026, after the October 31 deadline, and the company is still investigating its May explosion and adopting a new launch concept, making a near-term test unlikely.
What's driving it
- • Blue Origin's plan to return to flight by December 2026 (Yahoo Finance, Jul 14) pushes any launch or test beyond the market's October 31 deadline, reducing the chance of an explosion before then.
- • The company is adopting a new launch concept (CONOPS) after the May explosion (autoevolution, Jul 7), indicating a deliberate, slower approach rather than a rushed test.
- • The ongoing investigation into the May explosion (WESH, Jul 6) suggests the root cause is unresolved, making a near-term test unlikely.
- • The odds have edged down 1 point in the past week, consistent with news that no imminent flight is planned before the deadline.
The case for YES
- • Blue Origin has publicly insisted New Glenn will fly again this year (Space, Jun 27), which could include a test before October 31 if they accelerate.
- • The new launch concept may involve risky static fires or hot-fire tests that could trigger an explosion, even if no full launch occurs.
- • Blue Origin's recent history includes a New Shepard in-flight anomaly (2022) and the May explosion, suggesting a pattern of incidents that could recur.
The case for NO
- • Blue Origin's official return-to-flight target is December 2026 (Yahoo Finance, Jul 14), after the market deadline, so no launch or test is scheduled before October 31.
- • The company is still investigating the May explosion and rebuilding the pad with a new concept (GeekWire, Jun 30), making it improbable they will conduct any test that could explode before the deadline.
- • The market odds heavily favor No at 90%, reflecting consensus that no explosion will occur in this timeframe.
What to watch
- • If Blue Origin announces a specific launch or test date before October 31, Yes probability would increase.
- • Release of the investigation report into the May explosion could reveal a systemic issue, raising risk perception and Yes odds.
- • If Blue Origin delays its return-to-flight beyond December 2026, No odds would further increase.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if any unmanned rocket owned or operated by Blue Origin explodes at any point during a launch, launch test, hot-fire test, or other testing operation between market creation and October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET . Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An explosion is defined as a violent and catastrophic event resulting in the destruction of all or part of the vehicle, regardless of intent or context (e.g., a planned termination event would also count). The resolution source for this market will be official information from Blue Origin; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
ⓘ A market settles under its own written rules, which can lag what looks decided in the news — so the price may not move to 100% the moment an outcome seems obvious.
