Will Donald Trump visit Syria in 2026?
🗂 Part of event: Which countries will Donald Trump visit in 2026? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 8% chance — very unlikely.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 8% right now.
The market strongly expects no Trump visit to Syria, with odds at 8% and dropping, while the only Syria-related headlines feature the UN chief's visit, highlighting the absence of US diplomatic engagement and the enduring security challenges.
📊 Base rate: Since the Syrian civil war began in 2011, no sitting US president has visited Syria, providing a strong historical prior against a visit.
What's driving it
- • The 1% drop in Yes odds in the past 24 hours reflects the lack of any positive signals or news about a Trump visit, as the only Syria headlines concern UN chief Guterres' visit (Al Jazeera, Jul 25).
- • The market's low 8% probability is consistent with no recent reports of Trump planning a trip to Syria, and the complex security situation highlighted by Guterres' visit (Reuters, Jul 25).
- • The absence of any US diplomatic initiatives in the recent headlines reinforces the perception that a Trump visit is unlikely in the near term.
The case for YES
- • A dramatic shift in US policy, such as a UN-brokered peace deal requiring Trump's personal involvement, could create a reason for a visit.
- • Trump might seek a historic diplomatic breakthrough or a photo op to boost his legacy, similar to his 2018 meeting with Kim Jong Un in Singapore.
- • The Guterres visit could be a precursor to broader international engagement, potentially including the US, if Damascus makes progress on reconstruction (Jerusalem Post, Jul 25).
The case for NO
- • Syria remains a conflict zone with no US embassy and active Israeli military operations, making a presidential visit extremely risky and logistically complex (Haaretz, Jul 25).
- • Trump has shown no public interest in visiting Syria during his previous term, and his 2026 agenda is likely focused on domestic issues or other foreign policy priorities.
- • The market odds have been consistently low with no credible reports or official signals suggesting a visit is being planned, as evidenced by the recent 1% decline.
What to watch
- • If the Trump administration announces a diplomatic mission or a peace initiative involving Syria, odds would likely rise (Yes direction).
- • Any major security incident or escalation in Syria, such as an Israeli airstrike, would further decrease the already low probability of a visit (No direction).
- • If Trump announces a Middle East trip itinerary that includes neighboring countries, speculation could temporarily increase odds (Yes direction), but no such announcement is currently reported.

How it resolves
Settled on-chain by UMA's optimistic oracle: once an outcome is clear, anyone can propose the result, which then enters a challenge window where it can be disputed with evidence before it finalizes.
⚖️ A proposed outcome can be disputed during a challenge window before it's final.
Resolution criteria
If U.S. President Donald Trump visits a listed country between January 1 and December 31, 2026 11:59 PM ET, the relevant market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". For the purpose of this market, a "visit" is defined as Trump physically entering the terrestrial or maritime territory of the listed country. Whether or not Trump enters the country's airspace during the timeframe of this market will have no bearing on a positive resolution. The primary resolution source for this information will be official information from government of the United States of America, official information from Trump or released by his verified social media accounts (e.g. https://twitter.com/POTUS), however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028
The field is virtually nonexistent: only two candidates register at 1% each, and no one has broken 5%, making this the most open Democratic nomination race in modern history. The single biggest recent shift is the DNC's decision to put South Carolina first in the 2028 primary calendar (Axios, Jul 25), which could reshape candidate strategies and favor a different type of contender.

Next Prime Minister To Replace Keir Starmer
The field is highly concentrated, with Andy Burnham absorbing nearly all of the probability after Starmer’s resignation and a key endorsement, pushing the top three candidates' combined odds to an unsustainable 110% that signals liquidity imbalances or heavy speculative positioning. The biggest recent shift is Burnham’s surge to 99% following the ‘Starmer Announces Resignation; Burnham Wins Key Endorsement’ headline (The New York Times, Jun 23).

Despite Newsom's commanding lead, the field is far from settled: the 20% 'Other' share and AOC/Ossoff's recent gains per Action Network (Jul 8) suggest a pool of anti-Newsom sentiment waiting for a viable alternative.
