🗂 Part of event: What price will Bitcoin hit in July? →💡 What the odds say
The market puts this at about a 6% chance — very unlikely.
No money — just record your call and see if you were right. Yes is at 6% right now.
With only six days left in July and Bitcoin trading well below $70,000, the market assigns a 94% probability that it will not reach the target, despite some positive headlines on ETF inflows and institutional adoption.
What's driving it
- • Time decay: only ~6 days left in July, making it extremely unlikely for Bitcoin to climb from current levels to $70k.
- • Recent price action: the 15-point drop in Yes odds over the past week reflects Bitcoin's failure to rally despite positive news (Pluang, Cointribune, Jul 24-25).
- • Mixed signals: Japan's Bitcoin ETF potential and miner contract values are positive long-term, but the 'quiet civil war' headline (blockhead, Jul 23) suggests internal conflict that may weigh on sentiment.
- • ETF inflows (StreetInsider, Jul 23) revived hopes but haven't shifted odds significantly.
The case for YES
- • A sudden surge from positive news like Japan's Bitcoin ETF approval or major institutional buying could push BTC above $70k in a single minute candle; resolution requires just one candle high.
- • Six consecutive days of ETF inflows suggest renewed demand; if momentum accelerates, a spike to $70k is possible (StreetInsider, Jul 23).
- • The large value of miners' contracts ($150B) indicates strong industry health, underpinning a swift rally (Cointribune, Jul 24).
The case for NO
- • With only six days left, Bitcoin would need to gain roughly 20% in a week, a rare event even in crypto.
- • The 'quiet civil war' headline (blockhead, Jul 23) suggests fundamental disagreements within the community that could hinder price stability.
- • Despite positive news on adoption and ETFs, the market has not reacted with price increases, as evidenced by the 15-point drop in Yes odds.
What to watch
- • Any major announcement from Japan regarding Bitcoin ETF regulations before end of month could boost odds (direction: Yes).
- • Additional ETF inflow reports in the coming days could increase optimism (direction: Yes).
- • Negative regulatory news or a sharp sell-off would further reduce odds (direction: No).
